Kim Sabo Flores
Associate Director

Kim Sabo Flores has recently joined the Thrive Foundation as Associate Director. She brings with her an expertise in program evaluation, organizational development, and positive youth development.

Formerly, she was the owner of Kim Sabo Consulting and the founder of Evaluation Access, an interactive online evaluation training and resource center for nonprofit staff.  Dr. Flores is committed to developing strategies that build the evaluation capacities’ of nonprofit organizations.   Drawing upon her training in developmental and environmental psychology, Dr. Flores has introduced hundreds of adults and young people, their programs and their communities to the empowering impact of creative and sustained participation, reflection and evaluation.  In addition, she has worked with numerous foundations, supporting them to measure their "community" impacts and progress toward achieving their missions.  Her unique approach highlights the developmental nature of participatory evaluation for staff, organizations, donors/foundations, youth, and communities.

Dr. Flores has conducted international research and evaluation projects that have focused on youth development, children's rights, post conflict, protection, international development, and a variety of social issues. Specifically, she has worked with government, UN Agencies, and non government agencies to explore the implementation strategies and impacts of the Convention on The Rights Of The Child. Kim has authored several books and publications on evaluation, and organizational learning and youth development.

Kim has recently relocated to San Francisco from New York City and is soaking up the beauty of the Pacific Coast. She also loves speed skating with her husband, and working with and learning from young people.
